Trulicity® (dulaglutide) is a once-weekly injectable prescription medication approved for adults with type 2 diabetes. It belongs to a class of medications known as GLP-1 receptor agonists, which work by mimicking a natural hormone in the body that helps regulate blood sugar levels. By supporting insulin release when blood sugar is elevated, slowing digestion, and reducing excess glucose production by the liver, Trulicity helps maintain more consistent blood sugar control throughout the week.

This lower-dose option, 0.75 mg per 0.5 mL, is often prescribed for patients who are starting GLP-1 therapy or who require a gentler dose adjustment. Trulicity is administered once weekly using a pre-filled, single-use injector pen and does not require daily injections. It is not insulin and should not be used to treat type 1 diabetes.

Each carton includes four pre-filled pens, with one pen used per week. The injector is designed for simple, at-home administration and does not require dose measuring or mixing. How Trulicity Is Used

Trulicity should be taken on the same day each week. If a dose is missed, it may be taken as soon as remembered, as long as the next scheduled dose is at least three days away. Patients should never take two doses on the same day.

Unused pens must be stored in the refrigerator and should never be frozen. If necessary, Trulicity may be kept at room temperature for up to 14 days, but it should always be protected from excessive heat.
